So one or two seasons have passed since I last blogged. Shame on me! But the truth is that "life has gotten in the way" of me paying attention to this big blogger machine. I've missed it so much... My apologies. But here I am again. Better late than never!
Wow! It's been a year since Sandy hit. In some ways, it seems like yesterday when we lost power, lost homes, and lost our minds! We have memories of devastation, followed by opportunities of renewal. "We are stronger than the storm" was a terrific slogan for New Jersey's rebuild. A slogan that successfully stuck in our heads like a stubborn ear worm. But this slogan just doesn't apply to Jersey. "We are stronger than the storm, " is definitely true for us individually. We all face private storms in our lives. Death, divorce, job loss, drug/alcohol issues, cancer and other personal health issues, the list can go on and on. No matter what difficulties the universe throws our way, we have the choice to face the challenges with grace/faith or just fall apart.
So the next time, the universe tests your inner strength by sending you a "storm," my hope is that you do your best to bend and not break. Believe -- You are stronger than the storm.

Spring to Life!
Welcome to Spring! Weather-wise the last few days in New York have been fabulous. Perfect sunny weather. I love driving down the parkway, with my convertible top down (I have a Toyota Solara), and taking in the sights, especially the majestic beauty of the trees that have grown new leaves & flowers. The backdrop of the brilliant blue sky creates an incredible landscape that just awakens the senses and makes you feel glad to be alive. I'm not a lover of winter but I do love the transition from cold to warm and the way everything seems to pop with great color.
Spring is also a time of rejuvenation for all of us. Our spirits are naturally lifted when we go from winter to spring. The sunshine feeds our souls and helps us feel better. From darkness to light, from cold to warmth, we also feel renewed emotionally and spiritually.
With faith, not fear, we learn to appreciate the ever-changing seasons of our lives. I hope your days are full of light and love.
xoxo

Eight Seasons
It's almost March 1st. It feels like this year is flying by. Don't we say that about all the years? I can't wait until old man winter is gone. Cold weather and I just don't get along. I like the change of seasons for about a week, and then I'm thinking, time to move to a warmer climate.
January started off with a bang. Big changes but as always, I'm trying to go with the flow and roll with the punches, but honestly, it does a little tiring. I feel like I'm always having to learn lessons. Once in a while I feel like I just want to take a break from having to learn any more lessons from the great teacher known as life. But I don't have a choice, do I? I think the biggest lesson from me this year is about "trust." Granted, I have issues in that department. Sometimes I trust too much, sometimes not enough. I have to find a balance.
The other thing I've learned is that it's very important to take time to get to know someone. Many women (and yes, men) tend to follow their hearts, rather than following their minds and hearts. People often rush into relationships because they have fallen in love with love rather than really looking at the reality of the person they are choosing to be in a relationship with. Then when they're in the relationship and the infatuation period starts to wane, they are shocked to find that the truth of their partner is quite different than what they perceived. Oops! When the blinders come off, then you're in shock over what's really there. Ugh.
Whether you're 18 or 50, it happens to the best of us. But my lesson here is not to rush! One has to spend 4 to 8 seasons getting to know someone before fully opening your heart or taking the next step to a more committed relationship. At first 8 seasons may seem like a long time but in the scope of a lifetime it definitely is not!
So take your time...don't rush. When love is right, it is meant to last.

2013
Happy 2013 to all of you! It's a new year for us all. New beginnings and hopefully, many positive experiences and peaceful moments in between the challenges we must all face.
Been playing a lot and performing. When I'm performing/playing, is when I feel my best. I feel so in tune to the essence of my spirit. Nothing matters when you're in the moment and enjoying the experience of playing music. That's why it's so important for everyone to have a hobby they enjoy. When you're present to your true spirit, it takes you to a place like no other. When I'm singing and playing guitar, my concentration is spot on. It's a beautiful place to be.
Wishing you a peaceful 2013!
Lots of love...
